What We Do

As our nation works to recover from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, Seedco’s work has never been more vital.  Seedco designs and implements innovative programs and services for workers, families, and businesses. We advance community economic development through:

In addition to our direct service work, we analyze, assess, and develop best practices to inform our work, as well as that of other practitioners, researchers, and policy makers. We provide technical assistance to federal, state, and local governments; funders; and nonprofit agencies.

Partnering with community-based organizations is central to our approach. They have the experience, history, community trust, and cultural competence to best provide direct services to residents in low-income and underinvested neighborhoods.

    • We connect low-income individuals to careers.  We place thousands of people into employment every year and help countless others get the training and guidance they need to build real careers – not simply jobs.
    • We help lift people out of poverty.  We employ a unique approach to connecting eligible individuals and their families to benefits that enhance their income, often above the poverty line. We are advocates for policies on the state and national levels to benefit working families.
    • We support employers. We have experience working one-on-one with small business owners and other employers to help them grow and create jobs.
